My husband and I have a lot in common with this couple. First, we are married and so are they. Second, we are great dancers and so are they... Okay, so, I guess we only have the one thing in common. They can dance approximately 100,000 times better than we can. Wow.

Friday Fun: Teamwork and a Hidden Actor
First of all, check out the new "follow" buttons on the right. I managed to add those yesterday with much help from Google. For someone who doesn't actually know code, it was a pretty big undertaking. Whew!
Back to our regularly scheduled programming...
I'm really not a sports person, as mentioned multiple times. However, being married to a sports fan for six years is bound to have consequences. One of those consequences is knowing generally what is happening in the sports world.

Right now, the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat are dueling for the NBA Championship title. The Miami Heat roster includes some big shots, basketball super stars like Dwayne Wade and LeBron James. The San Antonio Spurs have some big names, but their calling card is teamwork. Individual players don't show off; the team members work together. The result is fun to watch. If you like basketball even a little, you will enjoy this video.
For those of you who do not think sports are fun enough for Friday Fun, how about a cheesy old music video with an actor from a favorite show hidden inside? [Scroll down carefully if you want to figure it out yourself].
Obviously, Reba is famous, but she's not the person I'm referring to. Do you recognize the guy? Add a few years, glasses, and surprise!
It's David Wallace from The Office. Was that more fun than basketball?

Friday Fun: Not My Usual
As mentioned on several previous occasions, I am not a huge sports fan. However, I am a sucker for a good rags-to-riches/Cinderella/underdog story. Judging by the popularity of movies like Miracle
and Cool Runnings,
I must not be alone.
Horse racing used to seem to me like just an excuse for people to gamble. When my parents started watching, I became a little concerned. In 2008, we stopped at Churchill Downs on our way to Virginia. Okay, there was more to horse racing than just gambling. These race horses were amazing, still not really my thing, but amazing nonetheless. Also, horse racing is a big deal to a lot of people. Breeders and trainers and owners and jockeys live and breathe horse racing.

Fast forward to 2014, when I heard about California Chrome. Unlike many race horses, California Chrome does not have an impressive pedigree. His owners aren't (or weren't) incredibly wealthy. They are just normal people who took a risk. They spent just a few thousand dollars on two horses they thought could breed a winner. It worked. California Chrome has won two of the three races that make up "The Triple Crown" (a.k.a. the biggest deal in horse racing and extremely rare). The final race is tomorrow. For the first time, I'm excited about a horse race....What is happening to me?
Anyway, here's a little intro to California Chrome. Be careful; you might get excited, too.

Friday Fun: Ikea Prank
If you have ever been to IKEA, you know what it feels like to be stuck in a maze. The maze may be filled with lovely things, but it's a maze nonetheless. The pranksters in this video took advantage of the maze just to mess with people. Hilarious.

Friday Fun: Kids React to Walkmans
If you haven't noticed, technology changes rapidly. As a kid, I mostly listened to music on my boombox. My boombox was cool because it had a dual cassette player and one side automatically "flipped" the tape. At the time, that was the only way to enjoy continuous play. While typing this, I realize how ancient the technology seems already.
Kids today are growing up with customizable playlists that can be simply put on repeat. No wonder they are stumped by a walkman in this video.

"Prank It Forward"
This video has been making it's way around, so you may have already seen it. I think "Prank it Forward" is a great idea. It would be fun to come up with "pranks" that bless people. Do you have any ideas?

Friday Fun: I Can't Handle the Cuteness
So, this video isn't in English, which adds to the cuteness. Thankfully, there are subtitles. Can anyone tell me what language they are speaking?

Friday Fun: "Sound of Sunshine"
Because most of us are tired of winter and need some warm sunshine. The boppy beat is an extra bonus. Happy Friday!

Friday Fun: Pranks
I used to work in a cubicle in a room full of chest-high cubicles. About twenty other people who shared my job title and description occupied the adjoining cubicles. I worked the late shift, from noon to nine p.m.
On April Fools' Day, I decided to pull a prank on my coworkers. I waited until the day shift and higher-ups had left for the day, then put a rubber band around the sprayer nozzle of our office's kitchen sink. This was a prank my family members have pulled for years, and I admit that I did not fully think through the ramifications of soaking a coworker. Chuckling to myself, I returned to my desk.
I didn't have to wait long. We soon heard a shout from the kitchen, then an angry coworker marched into the room. He was soaked. I mean, he had a good basketball-sized soaked spot in the middle of his shirt. And he wasn't happy.
He began accusing random coworkers of pulling the not-so-funny (but actually hilarious) prank. I quickly got back to work, realizing the potential consequences of my actions. Of all the people I knew, he was the person most deserving of a prank. He pranked people all the time: taping our supervisor's mouse so it wouldn't work, leaving garbage in someone's cubicle, and much, much more. If he knew I was behind the soaking, my work life would become a never-ending series of pranks.
My dinner break came at just the right time, allowing me to flee from the continuing accusations and excitedly tell my husband the story. I was never accused. Many people consider me the innocent, quiet type, and that really worked in my favor this time. Ah, sweet revenge. Minus the revenge. Ah, sweet pranks...? Anyway. It was fun.
What is the best prank you have pulled? This is the best one I have heard of lately:

Friday Fun: Falling
Falling is funny. Painful and dangerous, but also funny. I've done my share.
My most public fall occurred in a stairwell during undergrad. After chapel, students would head down the stairs to check their mailbox on the way to lunch. One day, I beat the rush, checked my mail, then attempted to go back up the stairs against the crowd. A few stairs in, I fell hard, whole-body-down-including-head hard. Picking myself up, I caught the eyes of a good twenty-five people and laughed. In my opinion, it is more awkward to fall alone than to catch an observer's eye and laugh together.
What do you think? Have you had any embarrassing falls?

Friday Fun: Elders React to Ylvis
Most of you have heard Ylvis' song "The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)." I thought it was pretty over-the-top. This humorous video shows elders reacting to the video.
What was your reaction to the original video?

Friday Fun: Chore (Roar Parody)
The Peterson Farm Bros. have been making a name for themselves by producing creative parodies like this one. I particularly enjoy the videos because I was a farm girl, but my city husband thinks they're great, too.
My one complaint is that they turned "chore" into a verb. My grammar brain can't quite get over it. The video is still good, though. :)

Friday Fun: 'Tis the Season
As previously mentioned, Handel's Messiah is one of my favorites. This video is a few years old, but is still fun to watch. Notice the joy that spreads as the "Hallelujah Chorus"fills the food court.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Friday Fun: Goats
When this video first came out, I watched it at least ten times in one weekend. Goats are so weird. The yak and the sheep in the video are also weird, but do not fall into the goat category.

Friday Fun: Runway Model Falls Twice on Runway
I do feel bad for the model, but the second fall is priceless.
